Slow Down

Looks like we geared up for a slow down, who knew?

1. We planned on adding a few more galleries.

  • Arabella Gallery in Windsor closed up shop. Our 1st gallery and the closest one to us. Adding the Country Store on Main, we are back to 6 Galleries / Gift Shops, it’s okay.

2. We planned on pushing and adding to our Etsy Shop.

  • Need a lot more in stock items for this, still working on it…we’ll get there.

3. More Craft Fairs.

  • Our 1st event of the season was a big disappointment. Great space and a wonderful variety of artisans and vendors. No customers.

4. We are a bit discouraged.

  • But, things around the house and yard are getting attention. This is a good thing!

Collecting FirewoodThe firewood project is keeping us (Bud) pretty busy. Sandy (that’s me) likes to come along to take pictures and drool as we pass through Sunnymede Farm. It’s crazy beautiful.Sunnymede Farm, Hartland, VT

5. Time to shake it off and get back on track.

Sofa Table

The Making Of A Sofa Table

Step 1 – Wood Selection

Since this table is for us, we are able to choose the wood, and luckily we had some hemlock on hand that could work. Table design will coordinate with our simple shaker style coffee table. Painted base with natural wood top.20170325_145648

Step 2 – Straight Lines Needed

Cutting off the live edge and creating straight pieces to work with.

Step 3 – Face Jointing

This is necessary to insure that all parts are flat, not cupped or twisted.

Gearing Up

First things first – what should Creative Woodworking focus on this year? More galleries? More events? More online? Well, the answer is yes, yes, and yes.

Our 1st event of the year is right around the corner, and luckily for us, it’s close by. 2/11/17 @ The Climb Fitness Center, Mt. Ascutney Resort, Brownsville, VT. If you are in the area, or can be, please join us.

Coming into the New Year, we have 6 galleries to visit and stock up. Today (for example), we were able to visit Long River Gallery & Gifts. They have a new, 2nd location in White River Jct., VT and it is a bright beautiful space. On Main Street, next to the Hotel Coolidge.
